WATER USE EFFICIENCY IN AGRICULTURE

Students will be given an overview of the current status of global water security and learn that agriculture is the sector which is the largest user of fresh water. A large proportion of the water used in agriculture is for rice production. Students will learn about water use in rice in two different production systems and assess how these systems might be modified to increase water use efficiency.
